Abu Dhabi [UAE], April 27: TRENDS Research and Advisory signed a mutual cooperation agreement with the UAE Council for Fatwa in research and exchange of expertise to boost both sides' outcomes with forward-looking academic methodology and strengthening cooperation in addressing extremism, hate, and intolerance.
Dr. Omar Habtour Al Darai, Director-General of the UAE Council for Fatwa, and Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, signed the agreement, while Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah, Chairman of the UAE Council for Fatwa, attended the event.
The agreement stipulated the exchange of expertise between the two sides in research, publications, surveys, seminars and joint events, in addition to coordinating efforts to strengthen knowledge, values of tolerance, giving and human fraternity.
Dr. Al Darai stressed that the agreement aligns with the council's strategy to forge strategic partnerships worldwide, consistent with the council's efforts to establish partnerships to provide fatwas in a modern way promoting virtues, tolerance, moderation and openness in other cultures.
Dr. Al Ali, lauded the council's role in addressing incorrect ideas and correcting them, commending its comprehensive intellectual programmes.
He also added that the agreement aligns with TRENDS's approach to broadening its relations network under the framework of capitalising on scientific research outcomes in serving and developing communities.
